TWO POSITIVE THINGS
EVERYONE CAN HAVE IN THEIR LIFE
MUSIC & A GARDEN
Music and gardening are a great way to relax and enjoy the day, or just a few spare minutes, that we have in our day. You don't have to listen to an entire
album, or have a huge garden. Simplicity is the key. A container box filled
with easy to grow herbs, parsley, basil, mint, rosemary, sage. If you look
at the big box shops, you will usually find seeds for .50 or less per package.
Use what you have, repurpose an old container that you aren't using for it's original purpose. Most big box stores have extra potting containers that you can get for free. Use some acrylic paint to create a motif or to simply paint the name of the herbs on. If you have an outdoor space that plants can go in the ground, you can simply dig a hole the same size as the container and put in the ground if you won't want it as a stand alone statement.
Why music and gardening? Because just like us, plants thrive with music also. I won't go into the science behind that, but I think maybe it's because the pollen spreads from the sound waves created, probably more the bass sounds that the other, but that's just my opinion.
What exactly does music and gardening do to our bodies?
1) It can elevate our moods into happier thoughts and places.
2) It can help us remember happier times, places, people
3) It can help us to R E L A X and simply reach a place in our minds that I call OBLIVION. That is what I love about gardening and music. It's a place where nothing else matters, where I can exist without life interfering in my happiness.
4) Both can lower blood pressure and sugar levels, help to negate panic and anxiety, and help us heal.
So, go find your happy place, today my suggestion would be listening to
Neal McCoy's The City Put the Country Back in Me; Chapel Hart (anything by her); Walker Hayes - Fancy Like ; Eagles - Take It To The Limit; Alan Jackson - Chattahooche - Dobie Gray - Drift Away. Add in some Rolling Stones, BTO, and Staind, and you have a pretty good mix going already. Don't forget to add in some Nitty Gritty Dirt Band to your mix.
So, what songs make you happy? What songs make you sad? What songs take you to that OBLIVION PLANET?
